Whiskey is an excellent show prospect.  He was born a solid chestnut with only a hint of appy characteristics, but he has extensive appaloosa breeding.  I originally thought that he might finish as a 33" snowflake appaloosa, but he seems to be growing a huge blanket!  He also failed to reach 33".  DNA testing has revealed that Whiskey carries one copy of the appaloosa gene, but is lacking the Pattern 1 gene that combines to create loud colour - not really a surprise based on his appearance.  He also inherited the Silver gene from his mother, which doesn't show on chestnut horses but could be passed on to any foals he has in the future.

Whiskey showed well in his first season despite going through a gangly-yearling phase.  He has a bright, cheerful attitude, and figured out his job very quickly.
